We are committed to ensuring that any personal data we hold about you and your family is protected in accordance with data protection laws and is used in line with your expectations. This privacy notice explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and how we protect it.
THE Personal data we collect – and how we use it
1. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will take your email address and send you our newsletters. If at any point you no longer want to be contacted in this way, you can unsubscribe from this service by emailing bigtrips@lijoma.com
2. If you email bigtrips@lijoma.com asking for a booking referral to our third-party affiliated travel agency, we will request your name and phone number. This phone number will be sent on to our third-party affiliated travel agency, along with your email address, and will be used by them to contact you with reference to your trip of interest. But ONLY when you give us explicit permission to do so. We will not be a party to or in any way be responsible for any consequential transaction between you and our affiliated travel agency, who will be providing a third-party service for you.
3. If you email bigtrips@lijoma.com asking for a bespoke itinerary, we will use this email address to start a dialogue with you (and a paper trail) ensure we give you the best possible service for trip planning. We will send you a consultation form asking for various details including but not limited to: your family size, children’s ages, interests and abilities, holiday budget and the type of trip you are looking for. This will be collected from you directly and a confirmation copy will be emailed to you. Should you then wish to book your bespoke itinerary, this information will be shared with our third-party affiliated travel agency, who will hold on to your details and contact you directly in order to make the relevant bookings. Terms relating to their privacy policies are out of our control and Lijoma accepts no liability (howeverso arising) for any damage of whatsoever kind, resulting from our third-party affiliated travel agency, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Why we collect this information
Lijoma will only collect and store your email address in order to keep you updated with our latest news and releases and/or provide you with a travel consultancy service. We will also store your personal data (name and email address) for our own future marketing purposes (eg sending you our newsletter) unless you have told us that you do not wish for us to do so.
Who your data is shared with
The only people with access to your information (name and email address) are our internal staff. We have active security procedures in place to protect and secure your information from loss, alteration or misuse. The data will be shared externally with our third-party affiliated travel agency with your explicit permission. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so.
SHOPPING
To purchase Big Trip PDFs from our online shop, you will be required to register an account. For this, you will be asked to provide your name, email address, a password and password reminder, and your billing address. We do not share these personal details with any third parties. We use third-party payment services (Stripe, Apple Pay and PayPal) to facilitate payment, so never have access to your credit card details. Big Trip PDF purchases are non-refundable.
