THE ISLES OF SCILLY

An idyllic week of island-hopping on the very edge of England

THE ULTIMATE ONE-WEEK FAMILY ITINERARY TO the Isles of Scilly

Lying in the Atlantic some 28 miles off the coast of mainland Cornwall, the rugged outcrops that make up the ISLES OF SCILLY are at the frontier of England, a scattering of warm and welcoming communities that are British in name if not – with their powdery sands and tropical plant life – in nature. The beaches are fantastic, the water is astonishingly clear, and for families in particular it all feels very relaxed in a wonderfully slow-paced, low-key kind of way, possibly because there are no cars on any of the islands outside St Mary’s.

Over the course of a week, you’ll discover the best of the Scillies, from the main island of St Mary’s to St Agnes, the most remote. You’ll hit the white-sand beaches of St Martin’s, cycle round Tresco and boat around Bryher, and take a walk to the most southwesterly point in the country.
